Vaccine Passports and Border Crossing
South Korea - Under a change that took effect May 5, some vaccinated travellers will be exempt from quarantine.
Germany - Authorities remove quarantine obligation for certain vaccinated travelers from some high-incidence and risk areas, effective May 12.
Turkish and Hungarian citizens who have been fully vaccinated will be able to travel between the two countries without testing and quarantine obligations.
UAE and Serbia set up quarantine-free travel corridor for fully vaccinated people.
Guam - From May 15, authorities will exempt all arrivals who have been fully vaccinated with a US FDA approved vaccine from undergoing quarantine.
British Virgin Islands - Authorities to ease restrictions for fully vaccinated travelers May 15.
Bermuda - From June 6, all non-vaccinated travellers will be subject to supervised quarantine for 14 days at a designated facility at their own expense. Vaccinated travellers entering with a negative pre-arrival test will not have to quarantine after testing negative on arrival.
Samoa - As of July 1, 2021 all travellers to Samoa must be fully vaccinated before entry into Samoa with any vaccine pre-qualified by the World Health Organization.
Domestic Use of Vaccine Passports
Cyprus - Documents known as Safepasses are being introduced in Cyprus this week, which give vaccinated citizens access to diverse venues and facilities in the coming weeks.
Italy - The Italian government has introduced a national green pass that will allow people to move freely between regions and which will come into force from the second half of May.
Turkey introduces vaccine ID cards to its citizens - the cards will be used both locally and in international travels.
Germany - Contact and exit restrictions for fully vaccinated and recovered persons will be abolished. Vaccinated people also no longer have to take a test in shops or at the hairdresser.
Mongolia - Effective May 8, public places to gradually re-open for fully vaccinated residents. Service organisations including hotels, saunas, bars and restaurants will only be able to serve people who are fully vaccinated.
Kuwait - Cinemas to open but only for those who are vaccinated.
Saudi Arabia - Vaccinated citizens will be permitted to travel abroad from May 17, when Saudi Arabia’s land, sea and air borders will be reopened.
Effective May 19 in Austria, and May 17 in Czech Republic, certain public venues will reopen for people who have a negative coronavirus test, or have been vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19.
Border Controls
Greenland resumed limited flights as of May 3. Up to 600 people may now travel from abroad each week.
Britain will allow international travel (to limited number of destinations) to resume from May 17.
Anguilla announces May 25th as the border reopening date.
Saudi Arabia to open to tourists, with quarantine for unvaccinated travellers.
New Zealand to resume Australia "travel bubble".
Mongolian border to reopen in phases.
Thailand reinstated 14-day quarantine for international arrivals, effective May 1. At the same time, Phuket to reopen as planned, and to be expanded to cover Krabi, Phangnga, Surat Thani, Chiang Mai, Chon Buri, Buri Ram, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Bangkok.
Iceland to apply entry restrictions for arrivals from more countries.
Effective May 8, Singapore to extend stay-home notice to 21 days for travellers from higher-risk places.
Vietnam extends compulsory quarantine period to 21 days.
Chile extends ban on entry by most nonresident foreigners through May 31.
New Caledonia to continue international travel restrictions until October 30.
